We decided to go to Traralgon just for the look of this caravan park and what it had to offer in the way of facilities. 18 Hole mini golf course, Adventure ropes course, swimming pool, spa, indoor play centre, playground, jumping cushion, laser tag, pedal go carts and it did not disappoint.
The weather was perfect, and we were looking forward to our first trip in our new caravan, the only problem was the 2 older kids were on the tail end of being sick....
The day we arrived was pretty hot and we didn't get there until late afternoon so we set up camp, got maccas for dinner and went to bed
We decided to spend the first day enjoying the park and giving the kids a chance to recover before we went out exploring, we played on the park and jumping pillow
and then we had a game of mini golf, the cost of mini golf was $5 per person per day that you wanted to play. The course was very cool! (these photos really don't do it justice)
The kids had a little swim in the afternoon and Mason and I had a go on the adventure rope course. The course is 11 metres high and has 3 different levels with a range of obstacles and different degrees of difficulty and was lots of fun. There used to be a zip line but that wasn't working when we were there. It was $ for a 1 hour session
NOOJEE
The next day we headed to Noojee, the first stop was the Noojee Tressel Bridge, this is the tallest surviving tressel bridge in Victoria. The bridge is a legacy of the old railway that ran from Noojee to Warragul and was originally constructed in 1919 but in 1939 it was burnt down and rebuilt in the same year. It is 102 metres long and 21 metres high
TOORONGO & AMPHITHEATRE FALLS
Being Easter Weekend with camp grounds nearby this place was packed! We had to park some distance away from the "carpark" where the walk started but it was well worth it and this walk is up there with one of my favourites so far
There is an observation platform kindof to the side of the falls where you can get a good view (except it was buy today)
About another 600 metres along the track and you get to Amphitheatre Falls, It is not as big but still beautiful
then follow the track back to the carpark
It had been a big day so we headed back to the caravan park.
Nash had started to get a cold the day we arrived and was progressively getting worse by that night we didn't like the sound of him and after a lot of ringing around to doctors we finally found one in Moe that would see us that night so after dinner I took him there. The doctor felt he was just a bit miserable and sent us on out way....
Next day was Easter Sunday and Nash's first Easter. The kids were excited to see that Easter Bunny had found them and enjoyed some chocolate for breakfast
I started to feel uncomfortable being away and felt that Nash was getting worse, we made the heart-breaking decision to cut our holiday short and pack up on Easter Sunday and go home
Before we left Mason & Michael had a last go on the ropes course
After the 3 hour drive home with Nash crying most of the day and not wanting to eat, his breathing started to sound really bad so I took him to emergency and by that night we were admitted to hospital. The poor little man had RSV, a respiratory virus which had made it had for him to breathe, he had a high heart rate and low oxygen levels. He was closely monitored in hospital for a short time and thankfully recovered really quickly but I'm so glad we came home
Hopefully one day we can go back and finish our holiday and have a slightly more relaxing time...
