2020 Sprintcar Classic

Grand Annual Sprint Car Classic is something I have been to every year since I was born. We have stayed in a range of different accommodation over the years from tents to motels, holiday units, tents again, holiday houses & now caravans with a range of different people.

This year we stayed at the

Big 4 Figtree Holiday Park
33 Lava Street, Warrnambool

Ensuite Site 19
$255 for 3 nights

We used to stay here in the holiday units at the front when we were kids so it was exciting to come back and stay here with our kids

There is an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, games room

Most of the weekend is centred around the Sprint car classic with a special focus this year being on James' sprintcar which is in memory of Mum and raising awareness for donate for life.

Saturday morning was Fan appreciation day where we worked to promote awareness and sign up as many spectators as we could to become organ donors

This was followed by a big reveal of the Sprintcar

Then it was time to race

Overall the weekend was a huge success and an amazing tribute to Mum and her legacy

Summer 2020 in Warrnambool

Back to our second home for a week over the summer holidays

2nd - 9th January 2020
Section 19, site 49
$60 per night

This year there was only really one good beach day which was the day after we arrived so we made the most of that

Our Friends that camp in Port Fairy came to visit was on the Friday night, we were to the big market at Lake Pertobe followed by some fun at the carnival. We spent a day down in Port Fairy visiting them too

The next day we swam in the pool at the caravan park across the road where Bruce & Madi & the kid were staying

While the boys played golf we took the kids for a walk from Thunder Point to Shellys Beach and stopped along the way to explore the caves and different things, then had a little picnic snack

Nights were spent having a few drinks and playing cards & board games

or having ice cream

Down the road from our caravan park is Lady Bay resort, they recently changed their name to Deep Blue hotel & hot springs as they have opened up a hot springs sanctuary

Let your mind wander to a therapeutic state while your body absorbs the health restoring mineral’s salts & heat of the natural earth drawn waters as you slowly make your journey throughout a myriad of geothermal pools. Delving into steep caves for enhanced sensory stimulation and bathing in floral aromatic mist. Bask over basalt stones or relax in the shallows of the reflection pool for quiet contemplation. Water is nurtured and celebrated throughout the Sanctuary and can be found gently streaming over rock walls, humming in the foot spa and flowing throughout fifteen thoughtfully curated bathing pools. It was AMAZING!!!!
