It was back to Shipwreck Bay for our annual week over the summer break
2nd - 9th January 2022
Section 19, site 49
$63 per night
Another summer, another trip to Warrnambool, Despite covid numbers being far more excessive than last year the park was back to normal capacity. Our site looked a little different this year with a bright orange fence for a very adventurous little toddler
The weather again this year wasn't set to be overly hot but we got a couple of nice daysOn Monday we decided to take a day trip to Yumbuck with is about 10 minutes past Port Fairy, There is a giant slide which is about 33 metres high, there are pieces of cardboard laying around the sand dunes that you can use to go down the slide, everyone had a great time, even Granny had a go
On the way back we called into Tower Hill which is Victoria largest Dormant Volcano and home to many Emus & Kangaroos
We had some sausages in Bread for Lunch & then did the Lava Tongue Board Walk which is a 1.6km flat 30 min walk
We saw 3 snakes on our walk!
On Tuesday the boys played Golf, we took the kids over to Lake Pertobe for a play and an ice cream on the way home
That night Granny and Mum took the older 2 kids down to the Carnival, in the rain...
Wednesday we went down to Port Fairy to catch up with friends, this year we stopped in at the Gardens to see Mason & Kayleighs Friends, Caleb & Mia, we stayed there for lunch and the kids had fun catching up and playing some tennis, We then moved over to see Aunty Christie & Jai for the afternoon and Rachael and the kids came down as well, it was a great day, finished off with maccas for dinner on the way home.
Thursday we finally got a bit of a beach day
The kids had their annual photos with their names in the sand
I took Nah home for a sleep & the others came back later for a shower and some lunch
The warmer weather was followed by a huge down poor that night with some flooding in our annex and a huge mess to clean up but it could have been a lot worse
Granny & Pa headed home on Friday for a wedding so after saying good bye to them I took the older kids for a hit of mini golf while Nash had a sleep
When Nash woke up we headed to the shops for some supplies and on the way home called into see Granny's Grave. Granny's Grave is a monument which commemorates the first white woman to be buried in the area in 1848
There is a play ground near by so we had a play before heading home for a quite night
Saturday was our last day and we discovered the Warrnambool BMX track, the kids had a ball, they even came home for lunch and went back again. It is close to our caravan park so we can walk there which makes it even easier
Here's one tired boy after a big week away
We felt this year that 1 week isn't really long enough so we have put our name down for a site for next year for 2 weeks starting after boxing day so we will see what becomes available after the cut off dates for everyone to rebook
